I wish for more appreciation of the animal. More time and joy in the preparation of the meat. To have time to come together and enjoy. Today we take not enough time for togetherness, cooking and being a child. TAKETIME combines these three factors. With these planks for smoking, the concept is simple. The inherent flavour of the wood contributes to an unforgettable taste of the meat or vegetables. The wooden plank should be soaked in water or whisky etc. and then placed on the hot embers. In this way, the meat is gently cooked by the smoke. The combination of clay with salt is a novelty. A culinary experience made of old materials, which give the grilled food a fine touch of salt.

On this unique plate you can grill, braise, bake, dry or smoke. The great heat that clay can store guarantees a great result. In order to collect the juices from the meat, a recess has been milled in the form of a "childrens ball track". Taking the time to playfully let the juice flow out after cutting the meat. Taking time to become a child again....

Ash

The magical

No wonder our ancestors were convinced of the many useful properties of the ash tree: In Germanic mythology, the tree was considered the center of the universe - with its crown connecting to heaven and its roots connecting to the underworld. The ash tree was said to possess mischief-repelling powers, and its bark was said to seal wounds. The ash tree, also called common ash, grows mainly in the Central Plateau and the Eastern Jura, preferably in humid areas between 400 and 800 meters above sea level. Thanks to its strongly anchored roots, the ash is an excellent stabilizer of slopes prone to slipping, especially on stream and river banks.

Clay / Salt plate

The combination of clay with salt is a novelty. It combines history and nature, heat with taste. A culinary experience with ancient materials, which gives a fine touch of salt to the grilled food.  On this unique plate you can grill, braise, bake, dry or smoke. The great heat that clay can store guarantees a great result. Directly in the fire or with indirect cooking you have a lot of room for improvement. For example, you can also prepare bread or focaccia. Have fun experimenting...

Application

If salt is heated too quickly, it can create stresses in combination with clay and cause the clay to break, since a certain residual amount of water is bound in the salt. Therefore, it is important that the clay/salt plate is heated slowly but surely. Light the fire. At the same time, place the plate in an indirect area and together with the grill, slowly preheat it. After about 20 minutes, move it further towards the direct zone, let it heat up for about 5 minutes and move it a bit further again. After about 30 minutes, the plate is then optimally preheated and ready for grilling.

Oak

The revered

The tree is considered the "father of the forest" - large and mighty, powerful and deeply rooted, the oak stands as a symbol of strength and endurance. It shapes our landscapes for up to 500 years. Some of them even bear up to 1200 annual rings. The oak was already revered in ancient times. If it bore a lot of fruit, this indicated a good harvest. In Switzerland, the oak is rarely found in the Central Plateau and the eastern Jura, but more frequently at higher altitudes. Where it grows, it creates many microhabitats for animals such as the squirrel, the oak moth, the oak process moth or the middle spotted woodpecker.

Aroma

Oak planks produce a special full-bodied smoke flavor.

The smoked flavor of oak is very similar to that of hickory only slightly more intense.
