I did this assignment in collaboration with the School of Design Graubünden IBW. Our class was commissioned to create a new Heidi sculpture which will then be exhibited in the Heidi village. First, each of us modelled the head, true to size according to the front and side view of the original Heidi from the film. Then we took one of the clay heads and scanned it into the computer with a 3d scanner. After that we scanned a girl with the same stature and the original clothes. Now we moved on to do the digital part. We programmed everything and then milled it with the CNC milling machine. But before that could take place, we had to prepare the wood and glue it together. This work was a lot of fun, but also a challenge. However, we were very happy with the final result. The figure now stands together with the little goat in the original Heididorf in Maienfeld and brings joy to many people there.
